Campbell River Gymnasts compete Live in Langley

February 18-20th  the Campbell River Gymnastics Association sent a group athletes to Langley to compete in the Christy Fraser Memorial Invitational.  The athletes were excited to be there in person for the first time after competing virtually for the past season and a half.  Highlights include Jackson Martin and Carson Ogg hitting qualifying scores for the Canadian Championships in their respective divisions as well as Jackson earning a trip to Edmonton in preparation for Canada Games in 2023.  Congratulations to all the athletes! They combined for 20 medals!! Below are the full results of CR gymnasts.

MEN’S SENIOR
Carson Ogg, won the Gold medal on Parallel bars, captured the Bronze medals on Floor, Rings, Vault and High Bar to win the Bronze medal in the All Around.

MEN’S JUNIOR (16-18)
Jackson Martin won the Gold medal on Vault, took 6th place on High Bar, placed 7th on Rings and Parallel Bars, finished 8th on Pommel Horse and 9th on Floor to come home in 6th place in the All Around.

CCP 9 2006-2007
Hannah Herschler took the 5th place ribbon on Vault, placed 6th on Floor, finished 7th on both Bars and Beam to come home in 5th place in the All Around.

CCP8 2008-2010
Ava Herschler captured 4th place on Beam, took 8th place on Floor, finished 9th on Bars and 10th on Vault to come home in 7th place in the All Around.

CCP7 2008-2009
Rihanna Dill captured the Silver medal on Floor, placed 10th on both Vault and Bars, finished 17th on Beam to come home in 11th place in the All Around.

Anna Harris won the Silver medal on Vault, took the 4th place ribbon on Beam, finished 5th on Bars and 8th on Floor to come home with the Silver medal in the All Around.

Kaylie Lofstrom won the Gold medal on Beam, captured the Silver medal on vault, took the Bronze medals on both Bars and Floor to come home with the Silver medal in the All Around.

Polly Klipa captured the Gold medal on Bars, won the Bronze medal on Vault, placed 4th on Floor and 8th on Beam to come home  with the Bronze medal in the All Around.

Grace Fraser won the 5th place ribbon on Floor, took the 6th place ribbons on both Vault and Bars, finished 14th on Beam to come home in 7th place in the All Around.

Chloe Stewart won the 6th place ribbon on Floor, took 11th on Bars, finished 16th on Vault and 17th on Beam to come home in 14th place in the All Around.

Sophie Pallan placed 10th on Vault, took 15th on Beam, finished 16th on Bars and 19th on Floor to come home in 15th place in the All Around.

CCP6 2010-2011
Haylee Toohey won the Gold medal on Floor, took 9th place on Bars, finished 14th on Beam and 15th on Vault to come home in 11th place in the All Around.

CCP5 2009-2013
Lacey Palmer won the 6th place ribbons on Vault, Beam and Floor, finished 7th on Bars to come home in 6th place in the All Around.

CCP4 2008-2010
Olivia Fawbert won the 5th place ribbon on Beam, took 6th place on Vault, finished 8th on Floor and 9th on Bars to come home in 8th place in the All Around.

First Virtual Invitational for CR gymnasts

The Campbell River gymnastics Association (CRGA) participated in their first virtual competition of the year, for most of the athletes, in the Christie Fraser Invitational hosted by the Langley Gymnastics Foundation.  On February 21st we recorded routines for 40 athletes and submitted their videos to be judged.  It was a great experience for the athletes as they were cheering each other on as they went.  We had great results coming home with 4 All Around Champions and 7 athletes finishing in the top 3 in their respective divisions.  Athletes combined for over 40 individual medals!  Congratulations to all the athletes.  The following are the results of the CRGA athletes.

 

JO10

Brooklyn Batch won the Gold medal on Floor, captured the Silver medals on Vault, Bars and Beam to come home as the All Around Champion!

JO9

Ksenia Stansell captured the Gold medal on Vault, won the Silver medal on Beam, took the Bronze on Floor, finished 4th on Bars to come home with the Silver medal in the All Around.
Hannah Herschler won the Bronze medal on Vault, placed 6th on Bars, Beam and Floor to come home in 6th place in the All Around.

Miley Konrad won the Gold medal on Bars, captured the Bronze medal on Beam, took the 4th place ribbon on Floor, finished 11th on Vault to come home with the Bronze medal in the All Around.
Anna Wheatley won the Silver medal on Beam, placed 5th on Vault and 6th on Floor, finished 9th on Bars to come home in 7th place in the All Around.
Julie Hold captured the 8th place ribbon on Vault, placed 11th on Bars and Beam, finished 13th on Floor to come home in 10th place in the All Around.

Miwako McGuffie-Ogasawara won the 9th place ribbon on Beam, took 11th place on Floor, finished 13th on Vault and Bars to come home in 13th place in the All Around.

Sophie Pallan captured the Slver medal on Vault, won the 5th place ribbon on Beam, placed 7th on Floor and 9th on Bars to come home in 5th place in the All Around.
Haylee Toohey won the 5th place ribbon on Floor, took home the 6th place ribbons on Bars and Beam, finished 8th on Vault to come home in 6th place in the All Around.
Jaycee LaFrance won the 6th place ribbon on Floor, took the 7th place ribbon on Bars, finished 9th on Vault and 10th on Beam to come home in 7th place in the All Around.

Paityn Giesbrecht won the 8th place ribbons on both Bars and Floor, finished 12th on both Vault and Beam to come home in 10th place in the All Around.
Avery McColl captured the 7th place ribbon on Vault, placed 12th on both Bars and Floor, finished 13th on Beam to come home in 13th place in the All Around.

JO2 2009-2012

Alyse Aydon captured the Gold medal on Beam, won the Bronze medal on Bars, placed 6th on Floor and 10th on Vault to come home with the Bronze medal in the All Around.
Ali Maga won the Bronze medal on Vault, placed 7th on Beam, finished 10th on Bars and 13th on Floor to come home in 9th place in the All Around.
Hannah Sumner captured the 4th place ribbon on Beam, took home 8th place on Floor, finished 9th on Vault and 13th on Bars to come home in 12th place in the All Around.
Nahla Birchard placed 9th on Floor, took 11th on Bars, finished 12th on Beam and 13th on Vault to come home in 13th place in the All Around.

JO2 2013-2014

Linnea Jones won the Bronze medal on Beam, took the 5th place ribbon on Floor, finished 6th on Vault and 7th on Bars to come home in 5th place in the All Around.
Leah Simonett captured the Bronze medal on Vault,  took the 4th place ribbon on bars, finished 11th on Beam and 14th on Floor to come home in 6th place in the All Around.
Drew Thomson won the 5th place ribbon on Vault, placed 9th on Beam, finished 11th on Floor and 12th on bars to come home in 7th place in the All Around.
Callie Bukta captured the 4th place ribbon on Floor, placed 13th on both Vault and Beam, finished 15th on Bars to come home in 13th place in the All Around.

MAG Junior

Caron Ogg captured the Gold medals on Pommel Horse, Rings, Vault, Parallel Bars and High Bar, won the Silver medal on Floor to come home as the All Around Champion!

Jack Martin won the Gold medals on Pommel Horse, Rings, Vault, and High Bar, captured the Silver medal on Floor, took the Bronze medal on Parallel Bars to come home as the All Around Champion!

Owen Harbo won the Silver medal on Parallel Bars, captured the Bronze medal on Vault, placed 7th on Floor, finished 10th on Pommel Horse and 13th on High Bar to come home in 7th place in the All Around.

CR Gymnasts have strong showing in Langley

The Campbell River Gymnastics Association sent a small group of gymnasts to Langley for the Christy Fraser competition held in the Langley Events centre February 14th-16th 2020.

The athletes had a strong competition coming home with multiple medals including two All Around Champions.  This was the first trials for the Canadian Championships for the boys National Open category.

Carson Ogg stepped up to the challenge winning the National Open division that has now set himself up for his first possible birth to the Canadian Championships later this year in Gatineau Quebec.

Jack Martin also had a strong competition winning the All Around competition in the Provincial 5 division.

Congrats to Miley Konrad who won the Gold medal on floor in JO 6, Shea Bridgen for her Silver medals on bars and beam in JO 7, and Brooklyn Batch and Janika Scriba for finishing 4th and 5th on vault in the JO 10 division.

Brooklyn Batch captured the 4th place ribbon on vault, took 5th place on floor, finished 6th on beam and 8th on bars to come home in 6th place in the All Around.

Shea Bridgen won the Silver medals on bars and floor, captured the 4th place ribbon on vault, finished 12th on beam to come in 4th place in the All Around.

Miley Konrad won the Gold on floor, placed 12th on both vault and beam, finished 13th on bars to come home in 11th place in the All Around.

National Open

Carson Ogg won the Silver medals on pommel horse, vault and high bars, won the Bronze medals on rings and parallel bars, placed 4th on floor to come home as the National Open All Around Champion.

Provincial Level 5

Jack Martin won the Gold medals on pommel horse and vault, won the Silver medals on rings and high bar, took the Bronze medal on parallel bars, finished 4th on floor to come home as the Provincial 5 Champion.

Nathan Kerluck captured the Silver medal on high bar, won the 5th place ribbon on floor, rings and vault, placed 8th on parallel bars, finished 13th on pommel horse to come home in 7th place in the All Around.

CR gymnasts win all around in Langley!

One week removed from their first competition of the year the Campbell River Gymnastics Association (CRGA) sent a group of boys and girls to the Christy Fraser competition held at the Langley Events Centre. We sent 9 girls and 6 boys that combined for 26 medals, three 3rd place finishes and two ALL AROUND CHAMPIONS! The athletes worked hard to improve on mistakes from the first competition and did a great job! Below are the individual results.

JO LEVEL 9 2001-2004

Janika Scriba captured the Gold medal on bars, won the Silver medals on both beam and floor, took the Bronze medal on vault to come home as the ALL AROUND CHAMPION!

Chloe Doyon won the Silver medal on vault, took the 4th place ribbon on floor, finished 5th on bars and 6th on beam to come home in 5th place in the All Around.

Brooklyn Batch won the 5th place ribbon on vault, took 6th on the floor, finished 8th on beam and 9th on bars to come home in 9th place in the All Around.

Hannah Sommer captured the Gold medals on vault and floor, won the Bronze medals on both bars and beam to come home as the ALL AROUND CHAMPION!!

Carson Ogg won the Silver medals on both pommel horse and vault, captured a Bronze medal on rings, placed 4th on floor, 6th on parallel bars and 7th on high bar to come home in 6th place in the All Around.

MEN’S PROVINCIAL 3 UNDER 13

Nathan Kerluck captured the Silver medals on both rings and vault, placed 5th on the high bar, finished 7th on floor, 8th on parallel bars and 11th on pommel horse to come home with the Bronze medal in the All Around!

Liam Barber won the Silver medal on floor, took the 6th place ribbon on vault, placed 7th on vault, finished 14th on parallel bars, 15th on high bar and 17th on pommel horse to come home in 12th place in the All Around.

Jack Martin won the 8th place ribbon on high bar, placed 10th on rings, took 11th on the vault, finished 17th on parallel bars, 21st on pommel and 23rd on floor to come home in 23rd place in the All Around.

MEN’S LEVEL 1 ALL AGES (scores achieved by a standard of score for Gold, Silver and Bronze status)

Liam Goldrup was able to achieve a Silver status on all apparatus and came home with a Silver status in the All Around.

CR gymnasts have strong performance in Langley

The Campbell River Gymnastics Association (CRGA) sent 13 athletes to the Christy Fraser Memorial competition held at the Langley Events Centre where our athletes combined for 15 medals.
This competition was the first National trials for the men and the first chance for Liam Deagle to qualify for the Canadian Championships held later this year in Edmonton.
Liam added a front layout full twist and a back layout double twist in his floor routine, a czechkehre on the pommel horse with a travel down, a kip to Iron Cross on the rings, a pirouette and a back layout half turn on parallel bars, and a healy twirl and a double back off the high bar.
Brooklyn Batch added a tsukahara tuck on the vault, and Janika Scriba added a split full on the floor.
Carson Ogg added a free hip and giants to his high bar routine and put a half spindle and stocklie on the pommel horse. The following are the results from the competition.

Men’s Level 3 under 13
Nathan Kerluck captured the 6th place ribbon on rings, placed 11th on both pommel horse and parallel bars, took 16th on floor, 21st on the high bar and 22nd on vault to come home in 17th place in the all around.
Liam Barber took 15th place on pommel, placed 16th on rings and vault, finished 20th on parallel bars and 23rd on the floor to come home in 23rd in the all around.
Jack Martin placed 22nd on both pommel horse and rings, finished in 23rd on the floor and took 24th on the parallel bars to come home in 25th place in the all around.

Men’s Level 4 under 12
Carson Ogg won the silver medal on vault, placed 4th on floor, pommel, rings and high bar and finished 5th on parallel bars to come home in 5th place in the all around.

Men’s Level 4 13 and older
