BCSS Gymnnastics Championships Campbell River schools come home with medals

Janika Scriba and Tyza Skuse from Carihi Secondary and Ksenia Stansell from Timberline represented their schools at the BC High School Championships on March 5^th. They were competing in the Level 5 division.

Janika Scriba had a great competition becoming the High School Champion on vault, taking 4^th place on the bars, finishing 12^th on floor and 15^th on beam to come home in 5^th place in the All Around. Janika also won a $300.00 school bursary from Will Erickson who has made a generous contribution to graduating students.

Ksenia Stansell captured the Silver medal on beam, won the 7^th place ribbon on vault and finished 10^th on both bars and floor, coming in 5^th place All Around.

Tyza Skuse won the 8^th place ribbons on both vault and bars, finished 10^th on beam and 11^th on floor to come home in 8^th place in the All Around.

Campbell River girls qualify for High School Provincials

Janika Scriba and Tyza Skuse from Carihi and Ksenia Stansell from Timberline all competed to qualify for the High School Provincial Championships in Victoria in early March.

The competition was held at the Chimo in Comox February 9^th. There were 3 spots up for grabs and all three girls qualified taking 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd spots respectively. Congratulations to all three girls representing their school and club (CRGA). Good luck at the High School Provincials!

Janika Scriba had a great competition winning each event and the All Around.

Tyza showed great routines on vault and floor to capture the Silver medals on both vault and floor while Ksenia showed strong routines on bars and beam to capture the Silver medals on those events.

Janika Scriba won the Gold medals on vault, bars, beam and floor to come home as the All Around Champion!

Tyza Skuse captured the Silver medals on both vault and floor, won the Bronze medal on bars, finished 4^th on beam to come home with the Silver medal in the All Around.

Ksenia Stansell won the Silver medals on bars and beam, won the Bronze medal on vault, finished 5^th on floor to come home with the Bronze medal in the All Around.

Carihi gymnasts win 2nd place team award at High School Provincial Championships!

Carihi and Timberline students that train at the Campbell River Gymnastics Association represented their schools at the High School Gymnastics Provincial Championships.

Jasmine Duguay, Kamryn Brown, Jillian Frank and Ruby Nickoloff rounded out the Carihi team capturing the 2^nd place team award out of 40 participating schools!
Leah Anderson represented Timberline.
Jasmine and Kamryn tied for 8^th place in the All Around with Kamryn coming home with the Bronze medal on beam! The rest of the results are as follows.

High School level 3

Kamryn Brown captured the Bronze medal on beam, won the 4^th place ribbon on floor, finished 19^th on vault and 23^rd on bars to come home in a tie for 8^th place in the All Around.

Jasmine Duguay won 8^th place ribbons on both vault and bars, finished 15^th on floor and 19^th on beam to come home in a tie for 8^th place in the All Around.

Leah Anderson captured the 8^th place ribbon on vault (tie) placed 13^th on the floor, finished 20^th on the beam and 22^nd on bars to come home in 17^th place in the All Around.

Jillian Frank captured a 5^th place ribbon on bars, placed 29^th on vault, beam and floor to come home in 29^th place in the All Around.

Ruby Nickoloff placed 15^th on both bars and floor, placed 27^th on vault and finished 42^nd on the beam to come home in 35^th spot in the All Around.
