CR gymnasts come bring home 8 medals at the Compulsory Provincials

The Campbell River Gymnastics Association brought home a combined 8 medals from 6 athletes after attending a competition on May 6th-8th hosted by TAG Sports Centre in Port Coquitlam.  Highlights include Jaycee LaFrance and Koiia Hausner capturing the Bronze medals in their respected divisions.  Alyse Aydon and Avery McColl both captured a medal on the Vault in their divisions.  Lacey Palmer and Olivia Fawbert rounded out the group with good performances in their divisions as well.  Below are the full results.

CCP 5 2006-2011

Jaycee LaFrance won the Silver medals on both Bars and Beam, took 5th place on Floor, finished 7th on Vault to come home with the Bronze medal in the All Around.

CCP 5 2012-2013

Lacey Palmer won the 6th place ribbon on Beam, captured 7th place on Vault, Bars and Floor to come home in 7th place in the All Around.

CCP 4 2008-2010

Avery McColl captured the Silver medal on Vault, placed 9th on Beam, finished 18th on Floor and 19th on Bars to come home in 14th place in the All Around.

Olivia Fawbert placed 12th on Vault, captured 13th on Bars, finished 17th on Floor and 18th on Beam to come home in 17th place in the All Around.

CCP3 2008-2011

Koiia Hausner became Provincial Champion on Vault and Beam, took 12th on Floor, finished 15th on Bars to come home with the Bronze medal in the All Around.

CCP 3 2012

Alyse Aydon became Provincial Champion on Vault, placed 13th on Beam, finished 18th on Bars and Floor to come home in 13th in the All Around.

Success in Duncan for CR gymnasts

The Campbell River Gymnastics Association sent a group of athletes to the Orca Invitational in Duncan on April 22-24th.  The athletes combined for 30 medals including an All Around Champion and 7 athletes finishing in the top 3 in the All Around.  A great performance for these athletes.  The next competition for these athletes will be in Victoria for the Garden City Invitational.

CCP 6 2009-2010

Polly Klipa won the Silver medals on Bars and Beam, captured the Bronze medal on Vault, finished 5th on Floor to come home as the All Around Champion!

Kaylie Lofstrom captured the Gold medals on both Vault and Bars, won the 4th place ribbon on Floor, finished 8th on Beam to come home with the Silver medal in the All Around.

Grace Fraser won the Gold medal on Beam, placed 5th on Bars, finished 6th on both Vault and Floor to come home in 4th place in the All Around.

Anna Harris captured the 4th place ribbons on Bars and Beam, took 7th place on Floor, finished 8th on Vault to come home in 6th place in the All Around.

Isobel Read captured the Gold medal on Bars, won the Bronze medal on Vault, finished 5th on Beam and 6th on Floor to come home with the Bronze medal in the All Around.

Haylee Toohey won the 4th place ribbon on Bars, captured 5th place on Floor, finished 7th on Beam and 10th on Vault to come home in 7th place in the All Around.

Linnea Jones captured Bronze medals on Vault, Bars, Beam and Floor as well as winning the Bronze medal in the All Around.

Drew Thomson won the 4th place ribbons on Bars and Beam, took the 5th place ribbon on Vault, finished 7th on Floor to come home in 5th place in the All Around.

Men’s Technical Trials for Campbell River Gymnasts

Gymnastics Canada put on their last virtual Technical Trials on April 1-3.  Campbell River Gymnastics Association had two athletes, Carson Ogg and Jackson Martin submit virtual recordings for these trials.  This competition was for the best Junior and Senior athletes in the country participating to represent Canada at international competitions.  The athletes did a great job with the following results

Jack Martin placing 5th on Vault, taking 12th on Pommel Horse, 18th on Parallel Bars, 23rd on High Bar, 24th on Rings and 25th and 22nd All Around in the Junior 16-18 division.

Carson Ogg placed 13th on Parallel Bars, 17th on Vault, 19th on High Bar, 20th on Floor finishing 17th All Around in the Senior men’s division.

The next big competition for these athletes is the Canadian Championships!

Success at the Provincial Championships!

The Campbell River Gymnastics Association sent a group of athletes to the Provincial Championships April 1st– 3rd.  The competition was a great success with athletes combining for 25 medals and multiple ribbons.  Carson Ogg, Jackson Martin, Jordan Loock and Hannah Herschler all qualified to represent Team BC at the 2022 Canadian Championships held in Richmond at the end of May.  Jordan and Hannah had to show consistency by competing twice over the weekend and combining the scores to make the top 6 in order to secure their spots to Nationals.  Carson and Jackson filmed the Provincials to also use the routines for Technical Trials for Gymnastics Canada.   Other big successes included Anna Harris, Polly Klipa, and Isobel Read all bringing home Silver medals in the All Around in their respective divisions.  Congratulations to all CRGA athletes!!  Below are the full results of our athletes.

Senior Men

Carson Ogg won the Bronze medals on Floor, Vault, Parallel Bars and High Bar coming home with the Bronze medal in the All Around qualifying for the Canadian Championships!

Junior men

Jackson Martin captured the Bronze medal on Pommel Horse, won the 4th place ribbon on Vault, took 6th on High Bar, received 7th on Rings, finished 8th on Floor and 9th on Parallel Bars to come home in 7th place in the All Around qualifying for the Canadian Championships!

Provincial 5 boys

Owen Harbo became Provincial Champion on Rings, won the Silver medal on Floor, captured the Bronze medal on Parallel Bars, placed 4th on Vault, finished 5th on Pommel and 6th on High Bar to come home in 5th place in the All Around.

CCP 10 SR

Jordan Loock won the 4th place ribbon on Bars, 5th on Vault day 1, finished 7th on Floor and 14th on Beam to come home in 6th place in the All Around qualifying for the Canadian Championships!

CCP9 SR

Hannah Herschler became Provincial Champion on Bars (day 2), took the Silver on Vault (day 1) took  the Bronze on Floor and placing 7th on Beam (day 1) to finish 4th place in the All Around qualifying for the Canadian Championships!

Ava Herschler won the  6th place ribbon on Bars, took 10th on Floor, finished 11th on Beam and 15th on Vault to come home in 10th place in the All Around.

Rayne Loock placed 13th on Vault, Bars and Floor, finished 18th on Beam to come home in 17th place in the All Around.

Rihanna Dill captured the Silver medal on Floor, placed 11th on Beam, finished 12th on both Vault and Bars to come home in 7th place in the All Around.

CR Gymnast qualifies for the Western Canadian Championships

The Campbell River Gymnastics Association sent a group of gymnasts to the Twisters Invitational in Abbotsford on March 25th-27th. The highlights include Hannah Herschler qualifying as a wildcard, for her first Western Canadian Championships held in Winnipeg Manitoba.  Carson Ogg, Grace Fraser, Polly Klipa and Haylee Toohey all finished in the top 3 All Around with Kaylie Lofstrom coming home as an All Around Champion!! Virtual Success at the Winterfest Competition for CR Gymnasts

On January 30th the Campbell River Gymnastics Association competed virtually for the Winterfest competition hosted by the Aviva Gymnastics Centre in Coquitlam.  This was the first competition of the year for most of the athletes.  Athletes combined for 18 medals and multiple ribbons for a strong showing for the start of their competition season!  Congrats to all the athletes!  Following are all the results.

Gymnasts sore virtually in Surrey

On February 27th, gymnasts from Campbell River competed virtually in the Carol Lenz memorial competition hosted by the Surrey Gymnastics Club.  The Campbell River Gymnastics Association sent a group of boys and girls that had a strong showing!  A combined 50 plus medals with three All Around Champions and 9 athletes finishing on the podium in the All Around.  Well done athletes!!  Here are the results by category and level.

Stansell competes for Timberline at High School Gymnastics Provincials

Ksenia Stansell traveled to North Vancouver March 10th-12th 2022 to compete for the High School Championships held at Sutherland Secondary School.  Ksenia had a great performance earning $1400 in scholarship money for post secondary education from her results.  Ksenia captured the Bronze medal on Floor and Beam, placed 6th on Vault and finished 7th overall and in 3rd place out of graduating grade 12 students.  Congrats on a job well done!!

Success in Mount Aerosmith for CR gymnasts!

The Campbell River Gymnastics Association (CRGA) sent a group of girls to Port Alberni for the Mount Aerosmith competition.  The athletes had many great performances bringing home close to 40 individual medals with 8 podium All Around finishes with Shyanne Johnson and Olivia Fawbert coming home as All Around Champions!  Fantastic job done by all the athletes!!  Full CR results are below.

Olivia Fawbert captured the Gold medals on Bars, Beam and Floor, placed 6th on Vault to come home with as the All Around Champion!

Avery McColl won the Gold medal on Vault, captured the Bronze medals on both Beam and Floor, finished 6th on Bars to come home with the Silver medal in the All Around.

Koiia Hausner won the Gold medals on Bars and Beam,  took 4th place on Vault and 5th place on Floor to come home with the Silver medal in the All Around.

Alyse Aydon captured the Gold medal on Vault, won the Silver medal on Bars, took the Bronze on Floor and finished 8th on Beam to come home in 4th place in the All Around.

Hannah Sumner on the Silver medal on Vault, took the 5th place ribbon on Beam, finished 6th on Bars and 9th on Floor to come home in 5th place in the All Around.

Nahla Birchard won the 7th place ribbon on Beam, took 10th place on Floor, finished 12th on Vault and 13th on Bars to come home in 11th place in the All Around.

Callie Bukta won the 6h place ribbon on Vault, took 7th place on Floor, finished 8th on Bars and 9th on Beam to come home in 8th place in the All Around.

Campbell River Gymnasts compete Live in Langley

February 18-20th  the Campbell River Gymnastics Association sent a group athletes to Langley to compete in the Christy Fraser Memorial Invitational.  The athletes were excited to be there in person for the first time after competing virtually for the past season and a half.  Highlights include Jackson Martin and Carson Ogg hitting qualifying scores for the Canadian Championships in their respective divisions as well as Jackson earning a trip to Edmonton in preparation for Canada Games in 2023.  Congratulations to all the athletes! They combined for 20 medals!! Below are the full results of CR gymnasts.

MEN’S SENIOR
Carson Ogg, won the Gold medal on Parallel bars, captured the Bronze medals on Floor, Rings, Vault and High Bar to win the Bronze medal in the All Around.

MEN’S JUNIOR (16-18)
Jackson Martin won the Gold medal on Vault, took 6th place on High Bar, placed 7th on Rings and Parallel Bars, finished 8th on Pommel Horse and 9th on Floor to come home in 6th place in the All Around.

Hannah Herschler took the 5th place ribbon on Vault, placed 6th on Floor, finished 7th on both Bars and Beam to come home in 5th place in the All Around.

Ava Herschler captured 4th place on Beam, took 8th place on Floor, finished 9th on Bars and 10th on Vault to come home in 7th place in the All Around.

Rihanna Dill captured the Silver medal on Floor, placed 10th on both Vault and Bars, finished 17th on Beam to come home in 11th place in the All Around.

Anna Harris won the Silver medal on Vault, took the 4th place ribbon on Beam, finished 5th on Bars and 8th on Floor to come home with the Silver medal in the All Around.

Kaylie Lofstrom won the Gold medal on Beam, captured the Silver medal on vault, took the Bronze medals on both Bars and Floor to come home with the Silver medal in the All Around.

Polly Klipa captured the Gold medal on Bars, won the Bronze medal on Vault, placed 4th on Floor and 8th on Beam to come home  with the Bronze medal in the All Around.

Grace Fraser won the 5th place ribbon on Floor, took the 6th place ribbons on both Vault and Bars, finished 14th on Beam to come home in 7th place in the All Around.

Chloe Stewart won the 6th place ribbon on Floor, took 11th on Bars, finished 16th on Vault and 17th on Beam to come home in 14th place in the All Around.

Sophie Pallan placed 10th on Vault, took 15th on Beam, finished 16th on Bars and 19th on Floor to come home in 15th place in the All Around.

Haylee Toohey won the Gold medal on Floor, took 9th place on Bars, finished 14th on Beam and 15th on Vault to come home in 11th place in the All Around.

Lacey Palmer won the 6th place ribbons on Vault, Beam and Floor, finished 7th on Bars to come home in 6th place in the All Around.

CCP4 2008-2010
